Lenovo Thinkpad T500 (C2D P8600 @ 2.4GHz, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Radeon HD 3560 - Xubuntu 18.04 (Bad battery)
Great laptop for basic web surfing, document creation, or simple image editing. This Thinkpad T500 is loaded with Xubuntu 18.04 Linux, a lighter-weight spin off of Ubuntu Linux. We've added LibreOffice, GIMP, and several other popular programs to make it more functional, along with a few simple games for those moments you just need a break. Unlike most laptops of it's era, this laptop comes with a Radeon HD 3650 onboard video rather than the Intel-based video on many units. While this laptop only has 3GB of RAM, it's possible to upgrade the laptop to 8GB of RAM using 2 SO-DIMMs of DDR3 1066 RAM. The down side to this particular laptop is the battery no longer holds a charge, so it must be plugged in at all times. Replacement batteries are available through various retailers on amazon.ca (see the battery details for a FRU P/N). Screenshots are of the actual unit.
